Moving checkers

The game starts with each player rolling one die; the higher number moves first, with both dice as their roll. After that you take turns, rolling both your dice.

Each die is a move of one checker by that many points:

  • You can move two checkers, one for each die, or one checker twice.
  • A checker may land on an empty point, a point with your own checkers, or a point with one opposing checker (see hitting). It may not land on a point with two or more opposing checkers.
  • When one checker moves with both dice, the point between must be open too.
  • A double, such as 4-4, is played four times.
  • You must use both dice if you can. If only one can be played, you play the higher if you can.
An opening roll of 3-1. The 3 moves a checker from 8 to 5, the 1 from 6 to 5.

Two or more of your checkers on a point make it yours: your opponent cannot land there. Here the 3-1 makes your 5 point, one of the best openings there is.

In Choue you drag the checkers, and the board only lets them land where the dice allow. Tap the dice to confirm your move.
