Bearing off
Once all fifteen of your checkers are in your home board, you start to bear off: to take them off the board.
- A die takes off a checker from the point of its number: a 6 from your 6 point, a 4 from your 4 point.
- You can also use a die to move a checker inside your home board instead.
- A die higher than your highest checker takes that checker off: with nothing on 6, a 6 bears off from 5.
If one of your checkers is hit while you bear off, it must come back around to your home board before you bear off again.
