We will begin with checker play, and will focus on cube play in a subsequent module. Here, we present some basic rules of thumb and the reasons for them, and hopefully will build good habits to start having confidence in our play, and start raking in wins.

  1. Board strength
  2. Just make the 5-point
  3. Anchor up
  4. Point on head
  5. Opening rolls
  6. When up in the race, race
  7. Build your board

  10. Don’t pass this up: part 2
  11. You’ll need builders
  12. Three midpoint tips
  13. “Pay Now” is overrated
  14. Playing loose 1: safety
